We used the apartment as a starting point for exploring Rome on foot. il Pantheon and Roman Forum are walkable, and il Campo di Fiori, Largo Argentina, Trastevere, and Portico d'Ottavia are close by. Black and White Suites is right in the Jewish Quarter, with great restaurants just outside. The apartment was roomy, clean, air-conditioned, and had a great bathroom. The owners were lovely and made us feel welcome. We'd happily stay here again on our next trip to Rome.

We loved our stay. Each morning, breakfast arrived at our room, and we looked forward to seeing what we'd get. The owner was so helpful and accommodating, and our room was cleaned meticulously every day. It's a tiny boutique-style hotel in the ghetto, a stone's throw from great kosher restaurants and the great synagogue, with many attractions an easy walk away.

I wouldn't recommend staying here. For 300 euros, the room never got above 19 degrees, even in winter. They suggested using the AC for heat, but it barely worked. Mosquitoes were everywhere, the TV was old and only had Italian channels, and the sofa was wrecked. The bathroom had mold and no ventilation, and the windows let in all the outside noise. The ironing board was tiny, so I had to iron on the floor, got my clothes dirty, and had to kneel to do it. My wife caught a cold because the room wasn't warm; they told us she was freezing because she had a cold, rather than because the heating wasn't working. Worst place to stay in Rome.

The location is excellent, and the room is really spacious. There was dust around and it needs a proper deep clean. The bed felt a little small for two, and the overhead shower wasn't working when we arrived.

The accommodation was nice and clean, and the location was great. Just be aware there's a flight of 48 steps to the top floor. I'm mentioning it so anyone who isn't mobile or fit knows what to expect.
