Casa per Ferie

We added breakfast for five euros, and it was the most delicious and filling breakfast we had in Rome. Along with bread, ham, cheese, cereal, crackers, honey, packaged muffins, butter, cheese spread and fresh fruit, there was hot water, tea, coffee and hot chocolate. Other places we'd tried just served a sweet pastry, usually a croissant, and cappuccino. There's also a coin machine for a late cup of tea, though we couldn't turn off the sugar. We enjoyed Casa per ferie Suore Domenicane more than anywhere else on our trip. The staff were warm even though we communicated in a mix of English, Italian, Spanish and Portuguese, and the place was quiet. The bed and room were very clean. The furniture, walls and small bathroom were old, but everything worked and it matched what we expected for the price in Rome. The location is good, though the sidewalks are narrow and the entrance can be confusing, so follow the street address on Google. We didn't need taxis or public transport while we were in Rome. It is a religious place with a chapel and Mass nearby, but nobody asked about our religion or expected us to take part. You can ask about joining if you'd like; any other faith, or no faith, should be fine and respected. Thanks!

Guests aren't given a key, and the main doors stay locked from 0:30 to 5:00. I think that may be illegal.

A budget place to stay, and the nuns are very nice.

A little worn and old, but clean and welcoming.
