We booked the quadruple room with two beds. It was a nice, clean room, and the shower and air conditioning were excellent. We were on the fifth floor, so having an elevator was useful for our luggage and for coming and going when we didn’t want to take the stairs.

We got into Rome at 6 a.m., and even though the official check-in time was 3 p.m., they kindly let us into our room at 10. It was clean and comfortable, and close to restaurants and sights around Rome.

The room itself was clean and nice, but the air conditioning didn’t work. It was a small wall-mounted mini split near the ceiling, and after walking around Rome in the July heat with my mom and six-year-old daughter, coming back to a room almost as hot as outdoors was miserable. We were on the fifth floor, so working AC really mattered. We contacted management on WhatsApp. They had me switch the power on and off for over an hour, then said a technician would come the next day. Nobody showed up, and it didn’t feel like anyone cared. When we asked to move rooms, they offered another property somewhere else. We were only there for two nights and didn’t want to risk being moved to who knows where, so we asked for a refund and changed hotels. As soon as we asked, the host stopped replying. The check-in process was insanely difficult and sketchy, and the elevator was frightening and smelled of urine. We’d arrived on July 12, 2023, so today marks a year since that stay. We learned that you get what you pay for. Do yourself a favor and book an actual hotel with a front desk. Getting taxis or other arrangements around Rome isn’t easy, and the front desk can help. Staying closer to the Trevi Fountain is a much better location, too.
