Cicero Rome Center

The location was good, but I found the stay disappointing. We had no privacy in our room, and noise woke us up several times in the morning. It felt like we were living in reception. We raised it with the hostel, but there was no option to move rooms. The shower was really bad too, and for what you get, I don’t think it’s worth the money.

We had ants and little flies in the room on both nights, and the room was small. The sheets were thin, with no proper blanket, and the shower pressure was terrible. Water only came from half the shower head. We booked through a third party; the instructions said to check in at the hotel before 8 pm and use self check-in after that. We arrived around 9 pm and called reception, but the person who answered was annoyed and complained to us. This was one of the worst hotel stays I’ve had. You’d be better off in a hostel. Stay away unless it’s literally your only option.

The room was a bit small for a family of four, but otherwise we had a good experience and the service was excellent. The staff were friendly and very polite. The location is convenient for nearby attractions, and you can walk or take a bus or metro. Grocery stores are on the same street.

The noise finally got to me. I could hear people talking through the walls, and it went on until 1 or 2 AM every night, so getting proper rest was impossible. The room also reeked of tobacco. Smoking is allowed inside, and the smell had settled into the walls, curtains, and bedding. Opening the window didn't help. The bed was old and painfully uncomfortable, and the cheap, worn furniture badly needs replacing. I couldn't take any more and left two days early. It was an awful stay, and for a little more money you can find somewhere comfortable and better kept. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone.
