Being near the Vatican was a real plus, and most other parts of the city were an easy walk away. Service was excellent, with the hotel open around the clock. The room was good too, though the minibar was on the small side. Room service, on the other hand, felt a bit expensive.

We really enjoyed staying here, and liked both the room and the facilities. The staff were friendly and so helpful, and their English was excellent, even though I tried out a few words of pidgin Italian. St Peters basilica and the Vatican are right on the doorstep. I'd recommend it if those are where you're headed.

The rooms do feel a little old, but in a charming, typical Italian way that was part of the experience. Staff were lovely, spoke good English, and were always around with advice and tips. The location worked well for daytime outings. It was a bit less convenient at night, although there are some pretty cool bars nearby.

You really can't beat the location: walk out the door and you're at the Vatican. We stayed twice, for two nights each time, and found the staff very friendly and helpful and the rooms clean. The old building has seriously thick stone walls, so WiFi in the room was terrible, though it worked better in the common rooms. The beds were okay, just not especially comfortable, and I wouldn't suggest them if you have back problems.
