I paid $176 (€148) through Booking.com for a standard room with free cancellation on New Year’s Eve. I’m still not sure whether that was a good deal; I’ll judge later, but I hope you didn’t have to pay that much. Getting around was convenient in theory. The hotel is about an 18-minute walk from both Roma Termini and the Colosseum and Roman Forum, with plenty of cafés and restaurants nearby. But hauling luggage over broken, uneven cobblestones made those walks much harder than an 18-minute walk in the U.S. would be, so I’d take a taxi if possible. A few practical things were awkward. There were no bedside tables, so I had to keep everything, even my water cup, on the floor. The Wi-Fi they first gave me didn’t work, and I would have needed to ask for another one. With unlimited eSIMs so common now, Wi-Fi might not matter as much to everyone. The doors were a bigger nuisance. I had to shove the room door hard to get it to close, and it banged loudly. The bathroom had a heavy sliding door with a broken handle, so it was hard to move. I often left it partly open. In such a small room with another person, only being able to open that door halfway was pretty awkward. They told me there’d be a kettle in the room, but it was broken. There was another one in the common area at the end of the hall, but no sink there, so getting water meant walking back and forth, especially inconvenient in the middle of the night. Finding the place was tricky because there was no sign. The elevator was tiny enough that I wondered if it worked and whether I could fit inside and shut the door. Still, those things weren’t too difficult to deal with overall. I didn’t bother rating the cleanliness, pillows, bed, or décor. The bathroom was reasonably clean and usable.

We had a lovely stay and I’d happily come back. The place was very clean, the room was nice, and the staff were really friendly. Rooms aren’t especially big, particularly the toilet, but the location more than worked for us, right between the Colosseum and Trevi Fountain.

I enjoyed my stay, and the staff were kind and very helpful, even though the place had a few pluses and minuses. The room had a little kitchenette area, but no pans or cutlery, just a wine opener. There wasn’t a table in the room either, though there was one in the hall. The hall also had a kettle and capsule coffee machine. They supplied towels and changed them daily, plus a hair dryer, small bottles of shower gel and soap. You’d only need to bring toothpaste. Getting around was easy: Rome’s main sights are close, and metro and bus connections are good. A bus to the Vatican goes straight from the main street. Tiger supermarket is about two minutes away, with plenty of bars and cafés nearby and a restaurant right next door.

We were given a bad room at first, but when we told the supervisor, they moved us straight away to a much better, cleaner one. Everyone was polite and the service was nice. Good location too, I recommend it.

I felt defrauded and unsafe, and the stay was a complete disappointment. The room was nothing like the photos. It was tiny, dark, and run-down, despite being advertised as stylish and comfortable. It felt like a bait and switch. The bigger issue was the shuttle arranged through the hotel. My credit card information was stolen and fraudulent charges of over $4,000 were made. I trusted the hotel staff to arrange safe transportation, and ended up being scammed. Nobody took accountability. I’ve reported it to Booking.com, Italian consumer protection authorities, and the Polizia Postale for financial fraud. Tourists looking for a safe, honest place to stay in Rome should avoid this hotel at all costs.
