Domus Imperiale

I booked in June, then tried to contact "Domus Imperiale" because my flight was due in very late that evening. I thought they might help with a late arrival, perhaps for an extra fee, as many booking places do, but they wouldn't. I emailed within a couple of hours of booking to ask whether part of the payment could be refunded, since I wanted to cancel. The replies weren't kind and kept saying it was my fault. They told me to cancel through Booking and then contact them. After Booking had processed the cancellation, I wrote again to let them know and ask for the refund. That's when an automated message said the email address no longer existed. I was in Rome for a medical visit and very busy, so it took me a week to report it to Booking. A very nice woman handled my case, but even while she tried calling the property during our call, they didn't answer. Their customer service was not great. I will never book here again or recommend it to friends or family. The worst part was that they changed their email contact at the last minute while I was trying to reach them about the refund. It seemed to me like a way to avoid customers. This place doesn't even deserve one star.

The rooms are large and comfortable, and the service is nice. There's a beautiful old-fashioned lift in the building. A very nice place to stay in Rome, and I definitely recommend it.

The service and location were great, but the room wasn't clean enough. The walls seemed paper-thin, and we could hear everything from the other rooms.

A nice place to stay for business travelers, in a good location. The breakfast isn't really what you'd call breakfast, more a quick bite for people in a hurry.
