The location was really convenient, and the room was roomy and comfortable, though a little dim. We did have trouble with the hot water, which needs attention. Sasi at the front desk made the biggest difference. He was patient, kind, attentive, and helped us with everything we needed. I'd gladly return because of him.
The room itself was decent, and the location is the one thing this hotel has going for it. The reception was often unattended, even during its stated hours, and service seemed optional. When there was a payment issue, the manager left handwritten notes on the door demanding that we leave at once or the police would be called, instead of handling it with a professional phone call. The manager also told staff to stop cleaning our room, apparently to push us into leaving early, which made the stay deliberately unpleasant. After we found a working number that differed from the one in the room and arranged to meet him, he arrived late and showed no remorse or urgency. The manager's behavior turned an otherwise simple stay into a hostile, unprofessional mess.
The staff were great and very helpful, and the hotel sits among shops and restaurants, with many well-known sights a 15-30 minute walk away. We had a large room and a comfortable, slightly firm bed, which suits us. But the bathroom had visible mold that immediately bothered my sinuses, and the bidet trap seemed to have dried out from lack of use, leaving a terrible smell. Closing the bathroom door eased most of it. Without those two problems, we'd be happy to stay again.
I would never recommend this place. A strike in Athens led to all flights being canceled, and even though we told the property what had happened, they offered no help or alternative. We still had to pay for the three nights we couldn't stay. If you don't want to lose your money and be left with no solution, don't book here. The customer relations were terrible.
It was cosy, quiet, clean, and in a great location. Just be aware that the elevator doesn't go to every floor, so luggage has to be carried on the stairs. Moira was helpful and messaged us before arrival with directions and entry details, but her shift began at 9, and since we got there around 7:30, we had to wait. I also want to include the owner's message: I simply rated my experience, didn't insult anyone, and was honest in noting that Moira had contacted us beforehand.
