Dulcis Inn Fundo

Alberto was really helpful, and our room was clean and comfortable. The neighborhood is great for a short break, with lots of good restaurants that are less crowded and expensive than the city center, plus easy transport to the tourist areas. There’s a nice shared kitchen, free breakfast at a popular nearby cafe, and free luggage storage. We were so happy with our stay and highly recommend it. ☺️

We stayed nine nights and felt at home in this safe, clean, comfortable place. The old building has a few scratches here and there, just the way I like it. Our host Alberto was friendly and quick to respond. He met us within two minutes of our call, and booked an airport transfer. Just let him know roughly when you’ll arrive. The location is ideal for buses around town. Use Google Maps and tap the bus icon. We only took taxis from the train station and to the airport. Breakfast was at the little restaurant on the corner, with great croissants and coffee, and good sandwiches to try. The room had water, juice, and crackers supplied free each day, and the housekeeper was sweet and did a great job. The shared kitchen has plates and utensils, which we used to eat the excellent meat and cheese from the grocery store two minutes away. Six-packs of 750 ml water were a great price too. We were about a 10-minute walk from all the restaurants you could want. Trastevere is the heart of the food scene, with cool jazz bands playing on the street by restaurants and the beautiful Santa Maria Trastevere church, which is worth visiting. Don’t miss the Trastevere flea market on Sundays. It was the biggest I’ve ever seen, with old and new items, antiques, clothes, souvenirs, old paper, train sets, and loads more. Second-hand shops had things from .50 to 2000 euros. I bought an extra suitcase there and could have filled a container with art and furniture. Worth the bus ride. Mercantino dell usato. Great trip centered at Dulcis In Fundo b and b. The advertised prices were more than we paid, I suppose because of the multi-day rate. There was no street noise while the tram was out of operation until July 2023.

Our host was friendly and helpful, and the room was comfortable and very clean. It was cleaned daily, with water, juice, and biscuits left for free each day. The place is close to the center, and Tram 8 went from the hotel doors straight to Vennezia Square. There was some noise outside, but we were so tired that we fell asleep right away. I’ll recommend this place to all my friends visiting Rome.

Dulcis In Fondo is a great choice in Rome’s lovely Trastevere neighborhood. You’ll be glad to stay outside the main tourist district. It’s on a busy street, so you can hear some traffic, though it didn’t bother me during my stay. There are many restaurants, bars, and boutique stores nearby. The staff are kind and considerate, and the rooms are beautiful and spacious.
