Garden's Elide

Check the name carefully when booking: it’s ELIDE GARDEN, not Hotel Garden. There may be a HOTEL GARDEN sign on the street, but that isn’t the right place. It’s best to contact the hotel before arriving, since reception may not always be staffed. The hotel itself is at the building entrance and has 10 rooms. It’s generally clean, and hot water wasn’t a problem, though the amenities aren’t lavish. The location is excellent, close to the metro and within walking distance of Rome’s historic and tourist sights. If you’re mainly looking to explore the city and don’t need extravagant comfort, it could suit you.

The worst stay I’ve had in a long time. The walls in the room were damaged, and there was dust everywhere. The sheets and towels were already dirty when I arrived and were never changed.

The main plus is the location, close to the center of Rome. The place was ordinary and clean, especially the bathrooms, but the toilets and shelves need repairs. The beds creak, the fridge is noisy, and being on the first floor means street noise too. It was hard to sleep here.

Scammers! I booked a room, then three days later the Italian government banned entry into the country. The reception staff refused to refund my money, including an extra 100 euros, even though I had canceled the booking 15 days before arrival.
