For the price, this was absolutely great. Termini station is less than a 5-minute walk away, with local shops and restaurants nearby. There’s a police station a few doors down, but I didn’t hear any sirens. As a woman travelling alone, I felt safe walking back after midnight because there were people around the neighbourhood. The key and code entry system worked fine, and there were no noise problems during my stay. The room was historic and dated, with plenty of space, large windows looking onto a courtyard, and a bathtub with a shower. The hotel room door is a sliding door. The bed was comfortable, the sheets soft, and the white towels clean. There were some maintenance issues, like grout that needs updating, but I didn’t mind. The owner made me a fresh espresso when I arrived, and soap and shampoo were provided. There’s an elevator for the bags. A yes from me, and a good way to save your money for sightseeing.

The location is great and the price is decent. The bed and sheets seemed clean and were comfortable, though the rooms could use some attention, like repairing the broken shower head. There was a water bottle on the desk that I thought was for guests, but later saw it was only one-quarter full and had been left by the previous tenant.

For a last-minute booking, I paid less than for many of the hostels I’d looked at, and less than other hotels too. The room was basic but had plenty of space, a mini fridge, and a TV. Fresh bedding and towels every day were a welcome extra at that price. The staff were really friendly and accommodating, and I’d book again on a future trip to Rome. Hotel Farini was perfectly placed for getting around. Termini station is a 3-minute walk away, handy for the airport transfers and metro. The Colosseum, Roman Forum, and Palatine Hill are about a 15-minute walk, and there are lots of restaurants within five minutes. I’ve just come back from a 3-night stay and was very happy with it.

Over the 11 days I stayed, the owners and staff at Hotel Farini looked after me and made me feel at home. I travel on the road for a long time and, especially when travelling on a budget, you run into all sorts of crap when you live out of hotels. It was refreshing to find somewhere well priced that kept its published promises and did even more to make me feel at home. I had a great room and bathroom separate from the main hotel, with amazing access and a real sense of security. It felt like my own little part of Rome. Great work, team. I really appreciated you all.
