Fendi Private Suites

The hotel has only around 7 or 8 rooms and sits in the Fendi building, with the boutique on the first floor and Zuma on the top floor. It's extremely private and quiet, with very little traffic. I stayed in a corner suite, one of the largest rooms, and it was spacious, beautiful, and spotless. The air conditioning worked great, and the furniture and decor were all by Fendi, with luxurious furnishings and finishes. Breakfast and lunch are served in the hotel restaurant, which is shared with Zuma. Zuma itself opens for dinner, and hotel guests get priority access to the usually busy restaurant. Guests are also invited to the Fendi Maison to see what happens behind the scenes. It's one of the most exclusive hotels in central Rome, and I recommend it.

Most of the staff were friendly, but the rooms were run down. There's also a fairly serious wasp problem on the roof deck. At best, the place feels like a fancy hostel, maybe a two-star one.

The location works well for shopping, but sleeping was another matter. Our room sits directly below the trendy restaurant Zuma, and there were footsteps nonstop as we tried to fall asleep. The noise of tables being moved woke us too, so think carefully if you need a good night's rest. I didn't get any sense of Fendi DNA or features in the hotel, and the experience fell short of what I expected. I do appreciate that they gave us a bottle of champagne, since there was no bellboy available to help with our luggage late at night.

The receptionists were extremely helpful, guiding us around Rome and other cities. The hotel itself was incredible, in what I think is the best location in Rome for tourists. I'd definitely recommend Fendi Suites and would choose it again whenever I visit Rome. The shower pressure was very low, though, and breakfast was below average with extremely limited choices. That's why I gave it four stars.
