Fiore Rosso

The WiFi kept dropping in and out. At times it was fast, at others painfully slow, and overall it really struggled. That's a huge downside. The staff were good and spoke English fluently, the room was clean, the WC was super clean, and I liked the privacy curtains. It's well located near most places. I also appreciated that the policies were straightforward, with normal length emails and the rules clearly posted at reception, no hidden extras.

Update: I had to change my review after the hostel told me there had been a data leak and a hacker accessed customers' personal information. That's completely unacceptable. Do not stay here. The rooms are adequate, but there's very little space for your belongings, and the air felt stuffy and hard to breathe because the windows were never opened. Some staff were also unwelcoming. The receptionist with long dark hair came across as quite rude, which hurt the experience. Anyone dealing with the public should be courteous and professional.

The rooms and beds were clean, and the hotel clearly pays close attention to cleanliness. There are four beds in each room, and the hotel has an elevator. It felt good and safe for families. The location is excellent too, about a three-minute walk from the metro, with a cinema and supermarket behind the hotel for shopping, plus a nearby Media Markt electronics store.

I was in Rome because my passport was stolen in sicily and I needed to pick up emergency documents from the British embassy. After spending the night at the airport, I was exhausted. They wouldn't let me into the room until 1pm, but that was two hours earlier than the usual time, so I was still grateful. There was a plug by the bed, a duvet, and a curtain across the bed. The room was clean, with a small balcony outside, and the location was fairly quiet. I was told central Rome wasn't far. Lidls and another supermarket were nearby. They offered free luggage storage all day, electricity and WiFi in the common areas, and a free drink. The fridge was broken and my milk went to waste. The kitchen was tiny, basically just a microwave. Lots of young people were milling around, and there was nowhere soft to sit, so it wasn't very relaxing. Breakfast was offered for 5 euros. Adequate and cheap for rome.
