Flatinrome - Termini

We stayed as a group of three families, and the apartment was disgusting. The smell was awful, the water pressure was poor, it was cold, and the pots and pans couldn't be used. None of the children or adults would use one bathroom because the odor was so unbearable, so all 11 of us shared the other one. We took real photos of the dirty vents and dusty chairs. We didn't travel all the way from the US to defame an Airbnb host, and we've had great stays with hosts in Florence and Venice, with no complaints at all. This was our most expensive Airbnb at $2500, and it was worse than a cheap motel. Italy isn't a third world country to us. More than half of us grew up in one, but we still have standards. I'm shocked the owner would respond with so many lies. These weren't imaginary problems. If he couldn't smell anything, something must be wrong with his nose. We were all there and experienced it. He came twice to fix issues he now calls nonexistent, and also claimed he'd contacted the water company to fix the water during the night. How could the company be fixing something that supposedly wasn't wrong? He has no proof for what he says, while we photographed the problems. He also says the law requires the thermostat to stay at 18-20C, yet admitted he set it to 21C. The wine he tried to buy us off with was supposedly a winner of “many international awards.” Well, barefoot also won many international awards, and I don't see people raving about it. Don't lie about what happened or shift the blame onto the families who stayed there. A bad review does nothing for me; I'm writing to give future renters a real idea of the place. I hope Airbnb takes our complaint seriously. If the owner has photos or videos of the actual situation, he should post them. I don't believe him, and neither did the other 10 people who stayed. If I could give this place negative stars, I would. There's no way people on Airbnb gave it raving reviews.

There are large rooms with beds for 14 people, and the beds were comfortable. Check-in through the app was quick and friendly, and we had plenty of towels. The apartment is well placed near both the train station and metro. Cleaning could have been better. We reported it and hope it gets addressed. I definitely recommend the apartment for a large group.

We arrived in the evening to find that the heating wasn't on. We called, but they didn't tell us which button to press. Still, it was a spacious place with four bedrooms and three bathrooms, a large living room, and a very big table. It's right by Termini Station in central Rome. You get in with access codes, so the apartment is completely self-contained. We also found a certificate showing professional sanitization had been done that same day, which was a nice plus. And they accept dogs, so I'd give them 6 stars instead of 5! Congratulations!
