Guesthouse Alex II

There was no heating in my room in December, so it got pretty chilly. Worse, a bar on the ground floor started up every evening around 22:30 and carried on until 3:00 a.m. It felt like the party was happening in my room, and I couldn’t sleep. The price was good for Rome at 35€ a night. My room was quite large, with a nice bed, its own shower, a big window and a good view. It was cleaned daily, and the staff were friendly. The location was close to Termini railway station, about a five-minute walk, and the Forum was 20 minutes away.

The bed was comfortable, the rooms were very clean, and there were lots of restaurants nearby. For a budget stay in central Rome, it’s a good option. I could hear noise from the street and club, which might bother some people, though I didn’t mind.

It was cheap, and being close to Termini Station was a real plus. But the whole hostel felt humid, hot, smelly, and noisy, even in November. The room and bathroom were pretty dirty, especially the floors.

The room and toilet were really clean, and they were made up every day. There’s a coffee maker, a microwave, and the bathroom had everything I needed. Staff were so helpful and went out of their way for me, which made a difference to my trip. The location is hard to beat, with the metro and main station close by, restaurants all around, and a supermarket just a two-minute walk away. I’ll stay here again if I return to Rome.
