I walked into the room and was so taken aback by how dirty it was that I left. Afterward, I saw reviews mentioning cockroaches and bed bugs, and felt I’d made the right call. Worst and dirtiest place I’ve ever been.

There’s no microwave or anything else for warming food. For that price, a hotel without any way to heat food isn’t worth it.

The location is amazing, right across from the beach, but the place needs major renovations. Some rooms are extremely dirty. The tray on the table was so dusty it looked like it hadn’t been cleaned since before WW1. There was mold on the windows and, even worse, inside the mini bar. All the drinks were covered in mold, and there was a leftover ice cream at the back.

This place is filthy, not just a little gross. My wife and I camp, so a bit of dirt doesn’t usually bother us, but we were checking the mattress for bed bugs. I also use the room phone as a clue to whether a room gets cleaned properly, and this one looked like it hadn’t been cleaned since before COVID. If you need somewhere quick after landing at Rome Airport, sleep somewhere else.

6/10
The location worked really well for beach days or trips into central Rome: it’s about 5 minutes across the road to the beach, 10 minutes to the train station for Rome, and 20 minutes from the center of Ostia. The hotel and breakfast were basic, but the staff were luckily very friendly and polite.
