Hotel Canada, BW Premier Collection

We’d love to stay at Hotel Canada again. The staff were friendly and accommodating from the moment we checked in, and the breakfast buffet was great. The whole hotel, including our room, had a lovely classic look. After a long day sightseeing, the bar felt like relaxing in your own, much more elegant, living room. Termini is a short walk away, and the Colosseum and historic center are reachable on foot in 30 to 40 minutes. We really enjoyed our stay.

The location makes it easy to walk to everything, and transport links nearby are excellent. Key tourist sights are comfortably reachable on foot. The staff were attentive and professional from arrival through departure, and made us feel valued. The facilities were immaculate, modern, and clearly well maintained. They also paid thoughtful attention to detail, especially for special occasions. A 10/10 stay. Efficient, high-quality, and welcoming. I’d absolutely return and recommend it without hesitation.

We’d stayed here years ago and were glad to find that little had changed. Despite the name, Hotel Canada has an old-fashioned Italian feel, and it’s been family owned for three generations. It’s about a 10-minute walk from Termini and two minutes from a Metro stop. The Baths of Diocletian are also around 10 minutes away on foot. Most major sights are walkable if you’re energetic, but the Vatican, St Peter’s, Castel Saint Angelo, and Trastevere across the river are a bit far. This isn’t a large, fancy hotel. There’s a small bar, a breakfast room, and a comfortable lounge, but no restaurant for dinner. There are plenty of decent places to eat within a few minutes’ walk, and Bramble is good. The bedrooms are comfortable, adequately equipped, and old-fashioned in a nice way, with high ceilings. There’s good TV with some English channels, good WiFi, a kettle with tea and coffee, and USB charging points. Some streets around Termini have a dodgy reputation, but we never felt uncomfortable and the hotel’s area felt safe. The staff are great and incredibly helpful. We booked through a British Airways package, so I can’t say much about the hotel’s own prices. What we paid for the flight and hotel seemed reasonable for a central hotel in a major capital, especially compared with London. Breakfast is buffet style, with fruit, ham, cheese, plenty of bread, delicious pastries, and some hot items. There’s no big English fry-up, but that’s fine by me. We were very happy and would absolutely come back. My one complaint is the tiled floors. Guests leaving early with wheeled luggage can make quite a bit of noise in nearby rooms.

The building has lots of character, and the hotel was spotless and beautifully kept throughout our honeymoon. Housekeeping did an amazing job. It’s also in a handy spot, about five minutes on foot from the train station and metro, and around 30 minutes’ walk from many major attractions. Everyone was friendly, professional, and caring, and we felt looked after the whole time. Arber at reception was fantastic, as were the barman and the rest of the staff. Breakfast was delicious and very reasonably priced. The champagne, nibbles, and personal note for our honeymoon were such thoughtful touches. We couldn’t have asked for a better stay and highly recommend Hotel Canada, especially for a special occasion.
