Hotel Giuliana

Once I figured out how the place worked, things were fine, but arriving was confusing and the entrance felt quite scary. The rooms were small but comfortable and very clean. Staff were super kind, especially the woman in charge of breakfast. The location worked well for us: the Hop on Hop off buss stop is very close, Roma Termini is about a 15-minute walk away, and the streets felt safe.

For our first trip to Rome, we were so glad we chose this place. The location was central to all the main places we wanted to visit and only a short walk from Termini station. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the staff, especially Jean, were very nice and helpful. We wanted to tour the Vatican and the Colosseum, and she arranged everything for us.

The room was clean and the staff were polite, but I disliked almost everything else. The space was miserably small, and the furnishings and appliances were miserably outdated. The breakfast was poor, and the entrance was dirty and smelled bad, with trash bins inside the property. I've stayed at over 20 hotels in Rome and never seen rubbish bins inside one before. There was also a noisy street market right beside the building, with African and Indian refugees. The manageress tries hard to get high ratings on social media, but I wouldn't advise staying here. There are hundreds of better hotels in the same price category, with better furnishings and appliances. I don't usually expect much from Italian hotels, since small rooms and no kettle or cups are standard even in four-star places. Still, this one was a disappointment apart from the clean room and staff attitude. Think twice.

We could leave our bags there until 4 pm after checking out, which made it much easier to enjoy the day. Ashwin checked us in at noon even though our flight had landed at 8:30 that morning. The hotel is about a 10-12 minute walk from Termini, Rome’s central station. Breakfast was decent, especially since it was free.
