The location made it easy to visit the Vatican on foot, with the Ottaviano metro station right nearby. Everything was clean and spacious, and there were good spots for breakfast and dinner close by. Communication with the owner was excellent, and getting in late in the evening was very easy, which suited us. For Rome, it’s a brilliant place for the price and standard. Definitely recommended.

Inside, we found a clean, spacious room and felt secure. Getting in was no problem, and the host, Francesco, replied quickly when we messaged with questions or issues. The street-level entrance door looked a bit off-putting at first. One tip: shower early, since the hot water ran out. It wasn’t much of a problem in Rome’s heat, as a cool shower felt good.

We booked this Rome hotel for the 14th and planned to leave our luggage before check-in, as you’d normally expect to do. When we arrived, they wouldn’t let us leave the bags, and gave no reason. The owner only communicated through WhatsApp and was extremely unhelpful. We ended up wandering around with all our luggage until 3 PM. When the owner finally said we could check in, there were no clear instructions, and we couldn’t open the door. A local helped us get in. After more confusing phone calls, we eventually made it inside. The place was filthy and still under construction, nowhere near ready for guests. We called the owner right away, but instead of helping, he laughed at us. The listing was completely misleading, and we were treated horribly. This was a scam. Avoid it.

The room was simple and clean, and it did the job. Sleeping became difficult after 6 am because of the noise from the iron entrance gate.
