Hotel Sallustio

We could walk to the Trevi Fountain, Colosseum, Pantheon and other nearby sights, so we didn’t need buses or other transport. We arrived late for check-in, but they contacted us ahead of time and left our key in a lockbox outside the room. That worked well since reception isn’t open 24 hours. They also kindly let us leave our luggage after checkout, which is at 10 AM. The room had a kettle, fridge, coffee, cups and lots of towels, plus an elevator for small luggage. One annoyance was the toilet, which took several flushes for number two. Room service wasn’t great either, but opening the windows for a while helped. And if you’re coming to Italy, big suitcases are a pain on the cobbled streets and tiny sidewalks.

The comfortable pillows and the location were the only good parts. The room smelled bad, the wardrobe had no space for clothes, the fridge didn’t work, and water wouldn’t drain from the sink or shower. The shower door was broken, though my boyfriend managed to fix it somehow. We had internet on the first day, then none for the next three days, and there was no room service. It was noisy too, with sounds coming from other rooms. This was one of the worst hotels I’ve stayed in. My boyfriend booked it for our Rome trip, and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone planning to visit.

The room photos didn’t look promising when we arrived, but they upgraded us to a recently refurbished room. It was really nice and suited what we needed perfectly. The staff were helpful and very kind, and they also offer airport transport. Great value for money. I’d definitely come back and stay here again, hopefully soon!

The rooms were clean and beautiful, and the staff were really nice and helpful. Breakfast was included, though it was all sweet.
