Hotel San Silvestro

We found the hotel modern, fresh, and very well kept, and our room was beautiful and clean. Its spot in the heart of Rome meant we could walk to just about everything. The staff were lovely and helpful with the information we needed. Mr. Marco was especially good at offering recommendations. I'd happily book here again next time I'm in Rome.

The room was on the small side, which I knew before booking, and the economy double was fine for us. Anyone needing room to leave luggage open might want a larger one. What made the stay work so well was the central location: we could return for a quick rest between sightseeing, and the area felt safe. The Trevi Fountain, Pantheon, and Spanish Steps are easy to reach at quieter hours if you go early or late. Staff were kind, too.

The breakfast alone is worth having: pastries, eggs, bacon, artisanal bread, and coffee, and eating it out on the balcony was a treat. Roberto also helped with cafe suggestions and simple ways to get around. The room was very small, but clean and perfectly workable for me on my own. It's a nice little hotel close to everything. Just be aware there are stairs, so it may not suit you if you don't like them.

We had a lovely time here and would come back. The hotel was comfortable, clean, and in an excellent location, with exceptionally helpful staff. Breakfast was beautifully set out each morning and had a great choice. The one small thing we missed was somewhere to store clothes, or a few hooks for coats. It didn't affect our stay, but could be worth considering.
