Il Cantico St. Peter Hotel

The good things are the water fountains on every floor and the hotel’s proximity to the Vatican. Otherwise, it wasn’t great. The rooms were small with few facilities, the Wi-Fi was lousy, and the beds were uncomfortable with awful pillows. Reception said all the pillows were the same, so asking for more wouldn’t help.

Being so close to the Pope was a real highlight. It’s only a 10-minute walk from the hotel to St. Peter’s Square, and I’d gladly recommend the place to anyone visiting Rome. The price and quality are hard to argue with. Rome feels like one huge open-air museum that never stops amazing me, and I’ll definitely stay here again on my next visit soon. I was in Rome on a pilgrimage and had a very positive stay. The staff at reception were really friendly, my single room was large, and everything was neat and clean. The bathroom was superb. The roller blinds blocked out the light well, the corridors were very quiet, there were always plenty of towels, and the air conditioning worked very effectively. Breakfast was delicious, and the staff there were just as friendly. As a solo traveler, I would have appreciated a kettle in the room.

Reasonably priced hotel within walking distance of the Vatican and the Basilica, with breakfast included. Sunday breakfast fell short, though.

The hotel is close to the Vatican, the rooms were clean, and most of the staff were friendly, including the cleaning lady and people at the front desk. I recommend it, apart from one disappointing interaction with an older man at the restaurant. My breakfast wasn’t included in the booking, so I politely asked where I could pay for my food. He answered angrily and wouldn’t make eye contact.
