The business trip was already costly, and having to change accommodation at the last minute because of one staff member's rudeness made it worse. I have emails and screenshots to prove what happened; the rest is in my messages with Booking.com support. If you can, stay away from this kind of establishment. The trouble began after I booked through Booking.com at one price. I automatically got a message saying cleaning wasn't included and would be added to the €10 price. I didn't pay much attention to it at first. Shortly before arriving, I contacted the property to arrange a time, and in the meantime checked the cleaning fee Booking.com had credited me. It turned out they only charge short-term rentals and weren't required to charge me tourist tax, which Booking.com also charges. The amount I'd paid was correct. I asked Booking.com customer service why they'd charged me tourist tax, and they promptly refunded it to my card. Then everything blew up. Within minutes, the owner emailed asking me to cancel and sent messages saying, "I don't want you as a guest anymore," along with veiled threats. I contacted Booking.com again to understand what was happening. Apparently, the owner had also spoken harshly to the poor operator, and kept sending me cancellation requests. The next day, the property sent a "forced cancellation" email. Accepting it would have cost me part of what I'd paid, but I would have had to confirm the cancellation myself, which I didn't do. The owner kept sending unpleasant messages. His last one said "he would explain to me in person how things work." Intimidated by that, and afraid he might damage my property and/or harm me, I decided to cancel and get a full refund. That isn't even the main issue. These people work closely with guests, yet the owner demanded extra costs that were already accounted for or shouldn't have been charged. The cleaning fee was already included in the booking, and tourist tax wasn't due. It seemed to me they were making money from items and services they didn't actually provide. And then there's the way they treated me. I wouldn't recommend the place.
