La Casa In Prati

We paid for the first day and then couldn't get in touch with the hosts, despite sending loads of messages and trying WhatsApp, Viber, and the phone number. We saved screenshots of the messages among the photos. On our last day, we waited until noon to hand the key back safely, even though checkout was 9:30 AM. We were also hoping to stay another night if they had a room available. The man never came. Our neighbours couldn't reach them either, and we eventually contacted Booking support. We left only after that, since we had a lot planned for our last day in Rome. While we were at a shopping mall across town, the host messaged urgently asking us to clear the room, where our luggage was still sitting. That's when we were told there was self checkout and we could leave the key in the room. There was no information about this on Booking, and the man who met us hadn't spoken a word of English. We had to pay for a taxi back, and when we got there, our luggage, including my MacBook Air, had already been thrown out of the room. I can't believe this. It felt like a factory attitude of “pay and go,” with nothing to do with hospitality. My husband and I spent our final night with a wonderful host close to Colosseum, for much less than we paid at La Casa in Prati. They spoke good English, were easy to reach at any time, and were very nice and friendly. I'm grateful to have had that example of Roman hospitality. P.S. After I posted this review, the hosts charged us 100 EUR on Booking.com for “late checkout.”

We paid 800e for five nights in a triple room, but got a plain double that doesn't show up on Google or Booking. The room was smaller than what we paid for, the walls were stained, and the TV didn't work. When we asked for slippers and shower gel, they told us to buy them ourselves at a store. The manager wouldn't give us any of the rooms shown in the photos. This feels nothing like a hotel. My husband and I have only just arrived in Rome for our five-night stay.

The staff were so friendly and accommodating, and the place was clean, comfortable, well equipped, and in a central spot. We had a great stay at La Casa In Prati and would happily return.

The host was incredibly friendly, and our room was comfortable in a great location. I'd love to come back!
