La Griffe Hotel

We liked the location, and the staff were nice. Breakfast was good, too. Our family suite wasn’t ready when we arrived: the bed hadn’t been made and there weren’t enough towels. Since it was late and nobody was available, they gave us sheets and towels. The shower was broken and there was no soap, so we had to move rooms. The air conditioning didn’t really work either.

The thin walls made it hard to rest. We could hear everything from the hall and the neighboring rooms. The room also looked older and more worn than advertised, and had cleanliness problems, especially in the bathroom. Some basic amenities were missing or poor quality. At the front desk, the staff seemed overwhelmed and not very interested in helping from the moment I arrived. When I raised the issues, there was little urgency or concern. This was a very disappointing stay that didn’t meet basic expectations. For the price, I’d look elsewhere.

We had a lovely, quiet room with a very comfortable bed and lots of pillows. It was spacious, split over two levels, and clean, though you could tell it had seen some use. There were slippers, robes, plenty of towels in different sizes, a kettle, coffee, tea, water, and a large balcony door that opened wide. The location was excellent, with everything walkable. Reception responded quickly and helped us book a taxi, store our luggage, and extend checkout. Breakfast covered the basics. A very successful hotel stay!

Breakfast was very limited and poor quality. It tasted awful, and definitely didn’t seem fresh. The pastries were stale or frozen, which felt especially disappointing in Italy. The location is convenient, but it can’t make up for the run-down room, poor maintenance, and disappointing service. I had multiple issues in the bathroom, amenities that didn’t work, and worn, outdated furniture. The room also didn’t match the online photos or advertised standard. I reported the problems, but the response was slow and nothing got fixed. I wouldn’t choose this place again or recommend it for comfort or value. It needs renovation and more attention to guests.
