Eduardo's knowledge of art was a real highlight. He could talk about both the permanent collections and temporary exhibitions around the city, and suggest things based on what we liked. Alessandro and Eduardo were lovely hosts and did whatever they could to make our visit enjoyable. We stayed seven nights in the Mandarino room and would happily return to Roma. The B&B is within a 15-minute walk of many Ancient Rome sights, major museums, Basilicas and Termini station. Breakfast was excellent every morning. The bed and pillows felt a little firm, though after a full day out I still fell asleep in minutes.

Monti was a great base, with restaurants and gelato nearby, including Flor Gelato on the corner. The Coliseo is close, and the metro is a few blocks away; we used it to get to Trastevere and the Vatican. We stayed four nights, and the room worked comfortably for the three of us. The hosts were friendly and helpful, and breakfast came with the stay. The self-service laundromat was handy on day 7 of our two-week vacation.

We were really happy with the stay. The B+B is only two blocks from the Colosseum, and the Spanish Steps, train station and Trevi Fountain are all walkable. Our host was very cordial and served a great breakfast. The room was clean and had modern amenities.

Looking back on our October 2014 trip as a couple, Alessandro and Eduardo may remember us as the Indian pair who couldn't open the wardrobe safe after locking our passports inside. They helped us get it open straight away. The building was charming, the rooms spacious and breakfast was great. We thought it was the best place to stay in Rome, and hope to come back in a few years with our kid. Down memory lane!

The Colosseum and Forum are just two minutes away, with bars and restaurants all around. It made a great base, and I'd have no hesitation about coming back.
