We stayed at White Room Colosseo from January 12-15, and wanted to leave because the place wasn't what we expected from the description. It wasn't a hotel, but a shared apartment with other guests, something the listing didn't make clear. The walk to the Colosseum took 10 minutes, not the advertised 4, and the city center was 30 minutes on foot, despite the description saying it was in the center. The host refused our cancellation request and gave no refund, saying he'd never heard of these issues. Noise made it hard to sleep. The walls were thin, the guests next door were very loud, and a beeping sound went on all night. When we mentioned it, the host said he'd never heard of it and that all other guests were happy, even though earlier reviews had mentioned the problem. Based on those reviews and how we were treated, I found the host had no service mindset and was deceiving and lying to guests. Don't book!

The room was spacious, with a good shower, and the woman who greeted us was lovely. Outside the front of the building, looking right, you can see the Colosseum, which makes a handy landmark when finding your way back. Cell service was spotty inside, though I didn't try the WiFi. That happened in other parts of Italy too, so it could have been the eSIM. The walls are a little thin, but it wasn't too busy during our week there in late October. We didn't use the kitchen. Coffee and water were provided, and there was a small fridge in the room.

Nina and the host were lovely and very kind. They let us leave our luggage after checkout so we could still go out and do things. The location is amazing, you can see the Colosseum from the outside doors. Two PIN codes get you through the building's main door, then there's another for the B&B itself, so it felt very safe. We stayed in one of two first-floor rooms and only saw the other guests twice. It was pretty quiet, though you could occasionally hear what was going on next door. Wonderful experience!

There was no usable WiFi in the room, not even for Instagram. The connection only worked for messaging apps. I'd read other guests' WiFi complaints before booking, and the worst part was that the host denied there was a problem, despite hundreds of comments on Booking. The host was completely unhelpful. I tried to leave a review on Booking.com but couldn't, possibly because they knew we'd had serious problems with this and replied very rudely. DON'T STAY HERE!

You can walk to the Colosseo and even see it as soon as you step outside. The room was clean, and the shared area was spacious and well equipped, though I would've liked more cutlery. The small bathroom had everything needed and smelled a bit musty, but opening the window cleared that up. The housekeeping lady was super sweet, and the owner was helpful on WhatsApp. The WiFi was the main downside, it didn't work properly, perhaps because it was shared with other guests. I'd stay here again.
