The air conditioning was a lifesaver in the 33-degree heat. The bathroom was nicely presented and towels were provided, but the apartment itself had only the bare minimum. Watching TV from the bed felt like watching it from a prison. Breakfast was left out all day, just cornflakes and wrapped cakes; toast would have been better. We saw the host when we arrived and had no contact with anyone after that. It was just okay as a base. Also, it's around 5 miles from Rome, so be aware that an Uber into Rome costs about £30. We tried public transport one day and found it horrendous.

La Fete had a bit of a magical feel, and we would absolutely recommend it, but that lift needs fixing. It was broken while we were on the 5th floor, and with our medical problems, carrying our 20k bag down the stairs early in the morning was very, very hard. Fabrizio had carried it up for us when we arrived, racing up the stairs and leaving us behind. The room and breakfast room were superb, with fantastic decorative details, and the place itself was beautiful. Fabrizio was a fabulous host. The location was a little tricky because the street looked much like a lot of the others, though we're the ones with seriously bad direction sense. The building's owners need to deal with the lift problem immediately.
