Lighthouse Suites Trastevere

The bed was mega cozy, and I slept like a kid. The soundproofing is great, you can’t hear anything outside. Only drawback was the shower water wasn’t very hot, though it was bearable.

The family room was much nicer than I expected from the photos, cute and pretty well equipped. The regular hotel room was cute and practical too, though there’s no lounge space. The two bathrooms have small hot water tanks, so you need to plan showers. The hotel is at the edge of Trastevere, around a 5-10 minute walk from the centre. Trams were meant to be running, but roadworks had replaced them with buses, which were crowded and unpleasant. A laundry shop right across from the hotel was handy and reasonably priced, and there are supermarkets nearby. You contact the hotel through WhatsApp, and they replied quickly and helpfully, but there’s no reception desk.

We had a great stay. The staff were friendly and helpful, and there are lots of restaurants nearby. It’s close to the centre, too. The only issue was that our room felt a little cold even with the heater on.

Guido gave us a lovely, genuinely cheerful welcome and was very accommodating throughout. Our room was small, but it suited us fine, with enough space to get into bed from either side. The rainforest-style shower was good. A few outlets by the beds would have helped, though that was only a minor inconvenience. I’d happily recommend the place.
