The apartment is handy for getting around, around a 15-minute walk to Circus Maximus, with a market nearby on a dead-end street. It’s on the ground floor and has two entrances, though the one through the building isn’t practical. Groceries were close, but it felt uncomfortable having people, delivery vans, and garbage trucks pass barely a meter from the door. Parking was awkward too. It seemed relatively safe from theft, but the few spaces in front of the store felt unsafe with the trucks, and the lot’s hours depend on the store’s opening times. There’s everything necessary in the apartment, but it’s poorly organized and the kitchenware is old. For three people it was much too cramped. The entrance/living room has a single bed where a sofa bed would have made more sense. Most of the furniture is dated, though the beds were acceptable. The pictures on the walls were very odd, not suitable for young people. The washing machine in the kitchen was dirty and moldy, so we had to clean it. The drying rack was tiny, really only enough for one person. The shower stall was clogged and moldy as well. The toilet seat was loose and unstable, and it was easy to bump into the sink opposite it. We’d also keep the door shut, since a cat wandered in and other animals might too. The owner’s communication was cold, brief, and limited. At first he seemed somewhat okay. We agreed on a check-in time the day before arrival, but on the day he pressured us as if nothing had been arranged, sarcastically reminding us that he doesn’t have a reception. After a long trip, that was unpleasant. He doesn’t communicate properly. We felt uncomfortable staying here, and the owner only asked the night before we left whether everything was fine. This might work for one night, but definitely not for several days. Being treated like just another number is a big no-no. There are plenty of Rome apartments at this price with much better accommodation. We don’t recommend it.
