On the second day, we found a lot of mold in the bathroom, and the shower wasn’t working properly. I have severe mold allergies, so the room raised a serious health concern for me. At the price we paid, its condition was completely unacceptable. The staff were generally polite, but the hotel refused to refund us and offered a discount for a future stay instead. I have no interest in using that. The response didn’t make up for the unsafe room. I’d advise anyone with allergies or other health concerns to stay elsewhere.

About a seven-minute walk from the Pantheon, and wonderfully central. The price and location were just right, and our room even had a fridge and microwave, which was great. My only gripe was the tiny shower. The curtain kept sticking to me.

Loved the location in this centuries-old historic building. One of the bedroom bathrooms could have used a door for a bit more privacy.

The ants were the last straw. I’d left food in the room for lunch, but when I came back it was covered in ants, and they were all over my bags too. The receptionist didn’t apologize or offer to help. At checkout, my key got stuck in the lock and there was nobody around to assist. I’d booked Locanda Parlamento for one night in central Rome after doing my usual research, including checking maps and reviews. I was traveling alone. The confirmation and a message from the hotel a few days before arrival, with maps and helpful information, had given me a good first impression. But the room was in a dirty, run-down old building, and it didn’t feel like a hotel. Reception was only open until 9 pm, with no one available afterward. The staff were friendly and helpful at first. Later, when the room was freezing because the AC was broken, I couldn’t get help. The person who was supposed to respond wasn’t available after 1 am, so I had to sleep in the cold. Maybe I just got unlucky with the room, but I’m surprised by the positive reviews. My stay was disappointing, and I wouldn’t recommend the place to anyone looking for somewhere comfortable and reliable. I wonder if I should add photos of the ant-covered food.
