Apartment Termini

We'd absolutely stay here again. It's a hidden gem, with a great location just a short walk from Termini station. That makes it an easy starting point for the metro to Vatican City, the Colosseum, Trevi and everywhere else in Rome. The room was reasonably priced and very conveniently located. The five of us booked a six-bed room with breakfast for two nights, and it was well worth what we paid. Staff were friendly and welcoming, and let us check in early. The room wasn't quite ready, but there were storage lockers at the back, so we could leave our bags and head straight out sightseeing. Our room was tidy and clean, as were reception, the food area, and the halls. The beds were pretty comfortable, and having two bathrooms in the room was handy with three kids, it saved arguments. Breakfast choices were a little limited, but everything was fresh, the eggs were well prepared, and there was plenty to go around. There's also a small supermarket next door for snacks.

Alex, the manager, deserves a special thanks. He was so kind and went out of his way to help when a personal situation meant we needed to extend our stay. He even offered thoughtful little things like free coffee and made sure I had vegan breakfast options. The team also dealt with a small room-cleaning issue quickly and professionally, and gave us complimentary breakfast for two days. We stayed at MEININGER Roma Termini for nine days and had a great time. From arrival onward, the staff were welcoming, kind, and very helpful. Their care made the stay special, and we'd definitely come back.

I would've rated this place higher. We liked the location, the modest price, and how kid friendly it was for my 9- and 6-year-old. It was a bit noisy at night, with lots of students hanging around and chatting until about 1 am. It didn't bother me that much, though, it's Rome, of course it's lively. The breakfast was poor, and my daughter spotted a live snail in my salad. I wasn't happy with how they handled it. I paid over 50 euros for breakfast I didn't want, and even told them we wouldn't be back for breakfast the next day, but they didn't process my refund. The refund process made no sense. I had to push for accountability, and they refused to document anything or explain how I could get my money back. A week later, I still hadn't heard from the hotel or Meininger. I won't risk my kids or family getting sick over food that hasn't been cleaned properly. It's the principle of it. Otherwise, we loved Khalid. He was helpful and a genuinely kind person who made our stay memorable. Don't pay for the overpriced breakfast. A couple of minutes' walk gets you better food and coffee, or you can eat at the food court inside Termini. The walk is worth it. My kids didn't like the breakfast either. You're paying 40 dollars CAD for cereal and salty eggs.

The room felt more like a dirty, poorly kept rental than a hotel. It wasn’t cleaned on our first day, and reception said we had to ask for housekeeping each day. We did, but cleaning was still inconsistent. We also raised the issue of the towels and sheets several times, and they were never changed during our stay. I can’t recommend this place based on that experience.
