There's not a lot to do within walking distance, but plenty of bus stops are nearby. It's a good, practical place to stay: everything worked, and even though we didn't see the owner, they made sure we could get into our room. The small kitchen and bathroom could use some maintenance.

The owner Michela and her daughter were warm and welcoming. The accommodation was very clean, in a safe, convenient area close to the Vatican and city center. Highly recommended!

That little arrival tip might save some confusion: the address is a few minutes from Ottaviano metro. Once inside, turn left into building II and take the lift to the fourth floor. We walked over 40 miles in our two and a half days in Rome, and it was great to be within walking distance of everything. The neighbourhood was so quiet at night, too, that we slept peacefully. We felt at home from the moment we arrived. Our host gave us a warm welcome, showed us around, and explained the keys and practical details. The room was airy, roomy and comfortable, with a balcony, blackout curtains, air conditioning, sofa, desk, fridge, and a bathroom with a deep bath and shower. There was a kettle with plenty of tea and coffee, Melba toast and jam, plus little Italian candies. Breakfast came as a voucher for the cafe on the corner, for the usual Roman croissant, coffee and juice. We'd happily stay here again next time we're in Rome.

The rooftop terrace was a nice escape after the elevator was broken, and we had a key to its entrance so we could come and go and enjoy a splendid view from the MiliziaGallery76 building. Pino Turi, the caretaker, was a real pillar of the buildings and helped with anything that went wrong. Nearby, Joe makes burgers and meat dishes, and there are two laundries close by, one expensive and one self-service. The room I ended up in had a balcony, and it was spacious and clean. Cosimo first put me in a room without one, but moved me after I argued. The price was as advertised. We went three days without hot water, so I had to take freezing showers. Lucia and Oliviero apologized so many times that I eventually forgot about it.
