Monteverde - Austria

The staff are awesome, and it’s very easy to get into Roma from here. The room was noisy and the furniture was old, but the place has an Italian charm that still made it enjoyable.

We stayed five nights and had a wonderful time. The rooms were spacious and cleaned daily, and breakfast offered a good range of food. The staff were friendly and helpful, especially Mario at reception, who made sure we had what we needed. We’ll definitely visit again.

The kitchen and cleaning ladies were the one bright spot: they were always smiling and helpful. The rest was disappointing. Monte verde hotel is old and noisy, and we could hear the toilet flushing in the next room. The bathroom was yellow, and the inner bath door opened into the bathtub. I asked for the AC remote but was refused, with several excuses. Reception had no maps, offered little guidance, and the breakfast was poor.

Rome was easy to explore from this hotel. The #8 bus/tram runs often and reaches the city centre in about 20 minutes, while the neighbourhood has plenty of restaurants and places to eat. The setting is peaceful but still well connected to the sights. Our room was clean, and the staff were attentive. Mario at reception helped make the stay a lovely one. Breakfast was good, and the two women running it made each morning feel warm and welcoming.
