The sofa bed was the main letdown, and I’d stay again only if it were replaced. The sofa was badly stained and the base was broken. I slept on the sofa wrapped in the duvet because once I opened the bed, it felt sloped and I didn’t like it. The main Wi-Fi was said to be broken because of a fire in another area, and they gave us a mobile hotspot that barely worked. But we accidentally plugged in the main Wi-Fi at 02:30 and found it worked fine, so I felt misled. I understand the owner tried to fix things with the hotspot, but that wasn’t good enough when Wi-Fi was advertised as a facility. The living room TV had no control and only picked up radio, so we couldn’t watch news or anything else. Breakfast was included, but the listing should say it’s an Italian breakfast of biscuits, small sweet cakes, coffee, and tea. There were good things too. I booked through booking.com and had none of the scam issues other people reported. The apartment was spacious enough for me, and my friend, who used the bedroom, had no complaints. With the windows shut the area was quiet, though we heard some neighborhood noise when they were open, which wasn’t a problem. We only used the kitchen for basic breakfast and had to Google how to use the hob, but that was fine. The bathroom was clean, the shower had decent pressure and temperature, and there was a mirror big enough for two women to get ready, with plenty of storage. There’s a washing machine and lots of cleaning supplies too. The owner was friendly and gave us recommendations for places to eat nearby. On our last day we used a locker storage room close by, which was easy to use and cost €4.99 for 5 hours for 1 case and 1 bag. One other issue: the phone number on all the correspondence was wrong, and we had to go through reviews to find the owner’s correct number. That should be fixed in the booking information.

I booked through booking.com and paid by transfer, but then they cancelled. When I managed to speak with them, they wanted me to pay again to reserve the room and said I would get my money back. I never did, and I still haven’t received the money.

The room was clean and stayed cool despite the hot weather outside. We booked through Airbnb and would stay here again next time we’re in Rome.

Restaurants and supermarkets were all within walking distance, and the location was the best part of staying in Rome. I really enjoyed the trip, and the owner was cooperative.
