Navona 7 Suite

The beds were comfortable and the heating worked well, and the location near Piazza Navona was excellent. But with nearly €800 paid for a short stay, the poor upkeep was hard to overlook. There were dirty walls and doors, a broken shower screen, a hairdryer that didn't work properly, and a mirror light that was out. Other guests had mentioned the walls and doors too, and peeling paint seemed to be the most repeated complaint on Booking.com over the years. The living room table wobbled, the sofa bed wouldn't close properly, and the master bedroom was noisy at night. Morning classes in the classrooms across the street added a lot of noise as well. The entrance, at the far left of the courtyard, felt intimidating. There was no elevator, though that didn't bother us. It's a shame the apartment wasn't better maintained for this price, and we should've read the reviews first. The host was annoyed that we gave her less than 6 on Booking.com, even though she understood our maintenance concerns. She even wrote that they planned to paint the apartment a few days after we left. When will they get around to it, given how often this has come up in Booking.com reviews for years?
