Raeli Hotel Lazio

Noise from the kitchen began around 6:00 AM each morning because my room was nearby, so getting a good night's sleep was impossible. I had paid extra for a larger room, but the one I was given was tiny, with barely room to move around the bed and nowhere to lay out my suitcase. The photos made the rooms look different from how they actually are, which felt misleading. This was the worst hotel stay I've had, and I wouldn't recommend it.

Being close to Termini was the one advantage. In my room 204, the walls, floor, and shelves weren't clean, even though the bed linen and towels were changed and the trash was taken out daily. The furniture and plumbing were extremely old and dirty. On May 4, 2026, the nightdress I'd slept in for three days disappeared from under my pillow. The administrator said she'd look for it, but it hadn't turned up by May 5 or during the next six days. I didn't call the police over a dress. There's a city tax, which apparently is a hotelpickpockets tax. Room service staff don't speak English.

The staff were friendly, and the places we wanted to see were about 20 minutes away, which is why I'm giving two stars. I was traveling with my Father, but the room only really suited one person. The bed was supposed to be a double, though it was too small, there was nowhere for our suitcases, and it was very uncomfortable.

We picked the hotel for its location and easy access, and the staff were lovely and helpful with information. Breakfast wasn't especially varied, but it was enough to start the day. The biggest letdown was the condition of the rooms: dated, scratched walls, worn furniture, and obvious maintenance issues. The cleaning staff did a good job, but they can't fix that kind of wear. There was no shower curtain, so water went everywhere when we showered. The hotel has potential, but in my opinion it needs to invest more in upkeep. I feel bad giving it only three stars.
