Rome as you feel - Bocca di Leone

Being near the subway and a sight sounded convenient, but the basics here didn’t work. The toilet barely refilled after flushing, just a few drops at a time, and took over two hours to fill again. It was effectively unusable and felt unsanitary. There was a reception desk, but I never found anyone there. The stated hours didn’t help: the cleaner said reception staff don’t come on Thursdays, and when I messaged at 6:30 pm, the automated reply said they were closed even though the posted hours ran from 8:30 am to 8 pm. I kept asking for help and heard nothing. I left early and moved to an Airbnb. This was the biggest hotel mistake I’ve made. The high ratings from partners felt like false advertising, and the place came close to feeling like a scam. Do not stay here.

The room felt a bit cramped, though each of the kids did get their own bed. We liked being just far enough from the Spanish Steps for the area to feel quieter, with lots of restaurants nearby. The subway is only steps away, which made getting around Rome and arriving from the airport really easy. The main sights are close too, including the Trivi Fountain, about a 15-minute walk away.

The street noise came right through the windows, which weren’t soundproof. Inside, the bed had an old, awful mattress, and the bathroom was so tiny that showering was difficult. The staff were nice, and the location was very convenient for Piazza de Spagna, Fontana de Trevi, and shops like Dolce&Gabbana and Gucci.

When my daughter ran into a passport problem, the staff at Relais Bocca Di Leone went above and beyond to help us through a stressful situation. The room was large, spacious, beautiful, and very clean. My friends and I loved the amazing location in Rome, and I’d definitely recommend this hotel.
