Relais Clivo Vaticano

The hosts were excellent, and the place was very clean and convenient for visiting Vatican City. If you want a cozy spot for a few days while touring the area, I highly recommend it.

A great choice if you’re sightseeing, with big, clean, comfortable rooms and a quiet, very clean place overall. The breakfast menu was surprisingly good and definitely better than Italian standards. Just be aware that getting there means climbing stairs, so it’s not recommended for anyone with walking difficulties.

We’re still trying to get our money back after the owner refused to let us in when we arrived at the time we’d scheduled. The hotel owner only messaged after we’d given up and climbed down all the many steps to the bottom of the hill, where a taxi couldn’t reach, and then canceled. The pictures are lies, and it’s in what I’d call the slums of Rome. I think this is a scam, and all those earlier reviews must have been posted by scammers. Booking.com refuses to refund us. They only listen to the scammers, and the whole experience has left me saying I’ll never use Booking.com again. I’m a hard-working, honest person, and this was horrible.

We wanted a quiet home base in Rome, and this hotel was perfect for that. It’s a peaceful hidden retreat in a great location. Couldn’t have been better, very highly recommended.
