Relais Dante

I loved the decor, romantic and stylish, and everything was kept very clean with daily care. The shared kitchen was functional and fully equipped, with a nice breakfast. Matthias was so polite, always smiling, and keen to answer every question.

The room was clean and the bed was super comfortable. Mattia was a great host, flexible and understanding when our flight was delayed and we arrived late for check-in. It’s well placed near a metro line that takes you wherever a tourist needs to go, with great bakeries and gelato places nearby. We’ll definitely come back if we’re in Rome again!

The proprietor suggested some excellent routes, and it was good value. Still, I wouldn’t agree that you need to pay to see many of the sights. The metro is right beside the place, though walking into the center takes a bit of a trek. It’s somewhat removed from the best restaurant strip in Trastevere and most attractions apart from the Colosseum, and this part of the center felt a little rougher. Around the corner there was a pretty decent late-night bar, with music and dancing out on the road until the early hours.

Coming back to a freshly cleaned room after a long day walking felt great. They clean the rooms every day, and there’s a light breakfast with coffee, tea and biscuits. The place is super clean and nicely decorated; Mattia takes good care of the Guest House, repainting every couple of months and keeping the rooms smoke-free for guests’ comfort. Mattia was helpful with restaurant and Gelato suggestions, worked around our arrival time and gave us great tips on where to go and when to avoid long lines. He’d make a great city guide. The Colosseum and train station are a short walk away. He also shares his phone number and is available at all times, which was comforting on our first visit to Rome. It was a great deal for the price, and I’d recommend it to friends. Great job, Mattia, hope to see you again soon!
