Rent in Rome - Vatican Apartments

Stay away. This isn’t really a hotel, more like a badly managed Air B&B, and I left after just one night to find another place. Check-in was all codes and messages, with no staff there to welcome me. The room they called their “best” was in poor shape, with cracks in the walls, dated furniture and a dirty coffee machine. The bedding was only average for comfort and cleanliness. The old windows let in cold air in winter, and noise carried through the building and from outside. I’m deaf in one ear and usually sleep through some noise, but I got no sleep at all that night. In the morning, there was no compensation for the poor service or room. They only asked, “there’s no problem now?” as if anything had been fixed. No breakfast coupons, not even a bottle of water. Dreadful service. I told them I wouldn’t stay for the rest of my booking because it’s impossible to sleep there, and asked for a refund for those nights. Even a partial refund would have been fair, but they refused. Since I left, they’ve also lied several times about how they’re handling it and tried to get something out of me after such a horrible stay.

The neighborhood is peaceful, and the main monuments are close by. We had a wonderful three days in Rome in room 1. I recommend staying here.

There are lots of places nearby for food or a quick coffee, and it’s easy to head into the city center or come back during the day if you need anything. The main sights aren’t far, and the staff were really friendly. The place was very clean, with fresh towels every day. Having the shower in the bedroom felt a little odd, but it was fine overall. Evenings can get a bit cool. I’d stay again.

The location worked really well, with everything we needed in walking distance, while still being away from the busy tourist spots. Our room was very nice and clean, and we loved the place. We did have a double booking because of a technical mistake at first, but they went above and beyond to make it right. The woman at reception was so kind and helpful, an absolute gem. We spent 10 wonderful days here and would come back without a doubt.
