Residence Vatican Suites

It's a nice hotel, close to the Vatican. The area is far enough from the tourist crowds that you can find nearby meals at reasonable prices. The staff were friendly and helpful, and our room was clean and comfortable. It isn't amazingly central, but most places are an easy enough walk. They only provide soap and body wash, so bring your own shampoo and other toiletries. Sheets aren't changed every day by default, but they'll change them if you take them off the bed. We enjoyed our stay and would come back.

The rooms were clean and well serviced, and my wife and I were comfortable during our six nights here. It felt like good value overall. The kettle setup could use some improvement, though. Tea and coffee facilities in the room normally cost extra for stays under six nights, but that charge was waived for us, which made sense since all that was needed was unlocking the kitchenette. The breakfast facilities didn’t seem like good value.

The rooftop garden was a lovely spot, with a nice view of the dome of Saint Peter’s Basilica. Our room issue was sorted out quickly, and the staff were friendly. Rooms are cleaned daily, too. The location is a big plus, very close to Saint Peter’s Square. Just check the room details carefully, since the listing on Booking.com wasn’t very accurate. Breakfast was very Italian and quite sweet. We had a very pleasant stay, definitely worth five stars.

The roof garden has a stunning view, and breakfast was really tasty. Our room was great, with a comfortable bed. It’s a little away from the city center, but getting there by bus is easy.
