The spot is great, near nice restaurants and cafes but a little removed from the crowds. I wish we’d had more clean towels and extra pillows. There’s no elevator, so heavy suitcases could be a struggle.

The building is steps from everything in Trastevere, yet our room was surprisingly quiet, and we felt safe. The neighborhood has plenty of locals and tourists, great places to eat, and nightlife. We could walk to the sights during the day and head back close to the restaurants in the evening. We didn’t get the penthouse with the jacuzzi, but our room was spacious and had a kitchenette. Definitely recommend.

The hosts were fantastic, informative and thorough, and the neighborhood felt safe and welcoming. Bars, restaurants and grocery stores are close by, but there’s enough distance to avoid unwanted noise and foot traffic. The air conditioning was great, and there’s a separate living area with a TV for late-night downtime or for anyone not ready to turn in. The apartment has 360-degree views of Roma, which you can take in from your own hot tub. The master bedroom gets lovely sunlight while still feeling private. The small, simple kitchen suits travelers who don’t plan to cook. The bathroom is well stocked, and its unusual layout is convenient, with the commode inside the shower area, proper drainage and a well-sealed door. A couple of small drawbacks: there are no hooks or racks for towels or handbags, and the elevator to the roof is slow. Going up and down makes you check twice or three times that you’ve brought everything you need.

Giuseppe was kind and helpful, always quick to answer questions or requests. We stayed in the top-floor room, up 53 steps. It was huge, with lots of storage and a small kitchenette. The private roof terrace, with loungers and a hot tub, was incredible to have all to ourselves in the heart of Rome. The location is fantastic too, on a quiet side street in Trastevere just steps from restaurants, bars and a little grocery shop.
