Residenza Maritti Classic Rooms

The hosts made us feel like family, welcoming us into their historic home and helping us figure out where to go. Our room, which I think was called Ines, looked out over a forum. It was clean and had a full bathroom with a shower and a towel warmer, which was especially nice in the cold Christmas weather. There are restaurants a block away, taxis are easy to pick up, and the Colosseum is within walking distance. Breakfast is offered next door. The rooftop terrace has an incredible view. We hope to return when it's warmer. The hosts' kindness and the value are hard to beat.

We came back and had another lovely stay. The rooftop terrace is exceptional, and the place has old world charm with a lovely family running it. Since it's in a historic building, it's best to be flexible about that.

We stayed in the Tango room, which was clean and roomy enough for three adults. The staff were friendly and helpful, and even arranged our transport from the cruise port and later to the airport. I loved the preserved frescos and the charm of this old home turned hotel. It's not a new, contemporary place, and the plumbing can be loud and the doors don't work like modern ones. But I like quaint hotels, and the location was good too. And that view!

We only stayed one night after our cruise, but the room was ready when we arrived at 11:00 am. It was spacious and looked out over the forum, right in the middle of everything, with the Colloseum about a five minute walk away or less. The check-in staff, Barbara and Jean-Luka, were wonderful. Two doors down, the breakfast room had lovely ancient decorations and a generous selection of cakes, pastries, fruit, cereal, yogurt, eggs, bread, coffee, tea, and juices. There were plenty of restaurants nearby too. We'd definitely stay again and recommend it.
