Ruby Giulia Hotel Rome

The hotel had a calm, airy feel that was lovely to return to after busy days exploring Rome. It was modern, minimalist, bright and spotless, while still feeling cozy and welcoming. The location made it easy and enjoyable to get around, and the relaxed luxury atmosphere never felt forced. The lighting, interiors, scent, and general mood were just right. One of our best hotel stays. For it to be perfect, we would have liked a simple espresso machine in the room, since that feels part of the Italian experience, and perhaps a small but properly cold minibar or fridge, or easy access to good ice cubes. Otherwise, absolutely top notch.

We had a total power failure on our last night, and it lasted until checkout. There was no shower, lighting, or elevator, which was extremely inconvenient. Customer service never answered our complaint or request for compensation. That level of service is unacceptable. Housekeeping also fell short: in our 5-night stay, the room was cleaned just once. Then staff asked if they could clean it only 1.5 hours before checkout. At reception, the staff were also acting as baristas and bartenders, so the service often felt understaffed and less professional, more like a hostel than a hotel. The location was excellent, with nearly everything within walking distance, and breakfast had a decent selection and was good. But given the service problems and the experience overall, the hotel is significantly overpriced.

The rooms were bright, quiet, and clean, and the decor is modern and tasteful. Front desk staff were friendly. We were pleasantly surprised to find a Marshall speaker in the room. The hotel has European standard sockets rather than Italian ones, but the front desk lent us a travel adapter, which helped a lot. Tourist attractions and Roma Train Station are all within walking distance. Absolutely great! 👍

We only stayed one evening because I had a reservation problem at Mercure across the street. I wish we'd chosen this place from the start. It felt much nicer than the Mercure, which is a 4-star hotel and, by the way, was cheaper. The hotel looks very new inside, and our room was spacious and quiet, with great soundproofing and air conditioning. The shower was excellent, and they supplied two shampoos, shower gel, and conditioner. There was a sink in the bathroom and another outside it, which is handy for couples getting ready at the same time. It felt more like a 4-star stay than the advertised 3 stars, and a much better experience overall.
