B&B Gemelli Rooms

I like Italy and Rome a lot, and I come to this area often, but I’d rather spend at least two hours commuting than stay at Hotel Gemelli again. The shower cabin is tiny, hard to use if you’re even a little claustrophobic, and feels unsuitable for a hotel near a hospital where people often stay while visiting patients. Breakfast was another letdown: a couple of sweet croissants, cake, some fruit, butter and cream cheese, but no bread. If I came down later, the fruit was gone, and the coffee and juice were so bad I couldn’t drink them. I’m usually not fussy and can find something to eat or drink, but here I’d just force down something sweet before going elsewhere to eat. The bed was awful too. Though I’d paid in advance, the sheets hadn’t been changed and had what looked like 8-10 hairs from the previous guest on one side. When I complained, the receptionist said they were probably the housekeeper’s. I lose hair too, but I don’t leave that many behind when I change sheets. He said they’d deal with it in the morning, as if I should sleep in them because the housekeeper had left for the day. After I insisted, he brought clean sheets, and I changed the bed myself because he said he didn’t know how. The next day another receptionist, who I think was the supervisor, said their washing machine was broken, so even their explanations didn’t match. I felt they didn’t bother because I’m from Romania, while still charging a high price. Shame. This was another bad hotel experience in Italy. Avoid it.

The breakfast was good, and the staff were friendly. The hotel was very clean, though the shower is small.

We got a great deal on this room at the last minute. It was spacious and clean, with a balcony, and the service was great. Breakfast was included too.

The sheets were clean, and I had a good experience overall. Staff were polite and helpful, though breakfast had no eggs or baked prosciutto.
