Saint Peters Garden

The neighborhood is pretty, as the photos show, and the place was nice overall. I stayed for five days at this VRBO near the Vatican, with an easy walk to a grocery store and lots of restaurants. The bed was too soft, and the hot water hadn’t been turned on. The kitchen could use a few things too: no sharp knives, a dull corkscrew, one very small saucepan, and no oven.

Emanuele helped us get oriented in Rome and was quick to respond. The apartment was comfortable and quiet, and we loved our stay. It’s near the Vatican, and bus 64 goes to all the major attractions. The station is also within walking distance, which was a huge help. We’ll definitely recommend it and come back.

Emanuel was a great host, and the apartment suited me, my wife, and our adult daughter perfectly. We visited the Vatican from there and found good restaurants nearby. Great apartment and location.

The bathroom door kept locking our children inside, and Emmanuelle couldn't be reached. Our teenage son had to climb out through the bathroom window to get out. The kitchen shade didn't work, and the living room, kitchen, and dining area was tiny. Only two chairs fit comfortably at the dining table, so the apartment doesn't really work for more than a couple or suit families and groups. There’s no microwave or oven, so everything has to be cooked on the stovetop, and restaurant leftovers can’t be reheated. The bill already included a tourist tax, but Emmanuelle collected it again, so that was cash in his pocket. There are mood lights and bells and whistles, but those didn’t make up for the problems. It’s a 20-minute walk around the Vatican walls to reach the Vatican entrance.
