Hotel Silla

We found a great spot for our short getaway in Rome. The room was comfortable, and the hotel was beautiful. We liked how quiet the area was, while still being close enough to cafés, restaurants, and the Vatican. Great price, too!

Don’t trust the pictures on Google or booking platforms, most of them look AI-generated. The hotel is worse than a dorm, more like a makeshift setup in an old home, with no facilities or accountability. Our room had no windows, kettle, pods, or duvet. The staff were rude and there was no service. Getting in meant passing through three metal gates, like a jail. Avoid at all costs, and don’t plan to stay here with family.

We were left stranded after a disaster with our Air B&B, and they got us into a room even though we hadn’t booked ahead. It was a nice, clean, no-frills stay, and I was very happy with the place. The metro is right down the block, and you can walk to the Vatican. I’d come back.

I slept comfortably and had no trouble sleeping, and there wasn’t much noise at all. The room was a little small, but good enough for me, and everything was very clean and tidy. The staff were friendly, though the front desk is closed at night. It’s a very walkable location, a good option near Vatican City and only a block from the train station. My ratings: cleanliness 4/5, service 4/5, comfort 4/5, noise 5/5, and location 4/5.
