Splendor Suite Roma

The staff were efficient and professional. The bathroom felt a little unusual to me, perhaps because I'm used to Japanese and American bathrooms, and it had no shower curtain. The location is fantastic, with all the best sights within a 15-minute walk or less.

My stay was awful. The room was dirty and dim, and it sat directly opposite the so-called reception, so there was noise and no privacy. Staff were indifferent and unhelpful, and the amenities fell short. Bass from nearby entertainment was cheap and noisy, the lift often felt unsafe, and the laundry facilities were poorly kept. I ended up booking another hotel and got no money back. I wouldn't recommend staying here when there are much better options.

I've stayed here twice now and will be back. The rooms overlook a lovely plaza, and downstairs there's a great place for breakfast and gelato, including delicious pistachio croissants. The hotel is clean and spacious, and the front desk helped with everything, including laundry. When I had to rearrange my airport taxi in the middle of the night, they stepped in and went above and beyond. It's central, and all the major historic sights are walkable. I can't recommend it enough. Stay here when you're in Rome!

Set on the fourth and fifth floors above piazza di San Lorenzo in Lucina, Splendor is quiet and extremely well placed. Busy Via del Corso is close enough to hear, but far enough away not to disturb you. The rooms are very clean, nicely decorated, and peaceful, with comfortable beds and proper linen. We appreciated the good-quality complimentary wine, the hallway coffee and tea station, and the 24-hour online concierge. The staff were among the most polite I've encountered and always helpful. The showers are on the small side, and we noticed a few things in the room that could be improved. For the price, the value wasn't quite there. Still, if you want somewhere clean, quiet, and central, it's a strong option.
