Our stay was cut short because we found bed bugs in the room and had to leave right away. It ruined our holiday and left us dealing with extra costs, a lot of stress, and the worry of taking the infestation home. The hotel hasn’t shown us proof of professional pest control. Simply changing sheets or doing a surface clean isn’t enough for bed bugs. This is a serious health and hygiene matter, and we’ve reported it to the relevant health authorities. I strongly recommend avoiding this place. In response to the owner’s reply: it’s wrong, disrespectful, and deeply unprofessional. We didn’t bring bed bugs with us. I’ve attached photos showing the professional dry cleaning we had to arrange ourselves for all our clothes and belongings. We were travelling with two children and stayed in Rome for four more days after leaving the hotel. Nobody puts themselves through that for fun or to start drama. It was stressful, expensive, and took a lot of time. If I wanted compensation, I wouldn’t have spent time contacting the proper health and inspection authorities. My lawyer would already have sent you a letter. I’m trying to make sure another family doesn’t go through this. Your claim that we disturbed other guests is false. What upset us was the poor hygiene, the lack of empathy, and your hostile response instead of taking responsibility. You say a professional cleaning company came in, but given what happened and how you responded, I seriously doubt it. A professional establishment knows bed bugs are serious and deals with them openly and respectfully, instead of blaming guests.
